Short answer
DentalDogTreats.com is an editorial team that compares dental chews for dogs using data published by manufacturers and the VOHC accepted list. We do not test products on dogs, no veterinarian is on the team, and we earn commissions from Amazon links.
Who we are
DentalDogTreats.com is written by the DentalDogTreats editorial team. We do not publish individual author profiles, and nobody on the team is a veterinarian. We started the site because the details that matter when choosing a dental chew, such as kilocalories per chew, the dog weight a size is meant for and whether the product is on the VOHC list, are scattered across manufacturer pages and easy to miss.
What the site does
We collect facts that manufacturers publish about their own chews and the status listed by the Veterinary Oral Health Council (VOHC), and we put them side by side. Each fact names its source and the date we checked it. You can see the result in the VOHC accepted list, in comparisons such as Greenies vs Whimzees and in guides such as Are Greenies safe for dogs?. Our cost calculator works from a pack price that you type in yourself.
What we do not do
- We do not test chews in a laboratory or on dogs, and we do not publish results from our own dogs.
- We do not give veterinary advice. For a dog with dental pain, broken teeth or persistent bad breath, see your veterinarian.
- We do not copy Amazon prices, ratings or customer reviews onto this site.
- We do not accept payment from manufacturers for placement or wording. The site is not affiliated with any manufacturer.

How we make money
DentalDogTreats.com participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to amazon.com. When you click a link to Amazon on this site and buy something, Amazon may pay us a commission. It does not add to what you pay. This is our only source of income, and it gives us a reason to want clicks, which is why every fact on the site can be checked at its source. Read the full affiliate disclosure.
